Experimenting with Plaster Paste has been a relaxing and rewarding process! Most of my texture pieces start as an idea for a piece for my own home and a collection is born! Getting my hands completely messy and mindlessly creating without a finished product in mind is just the peaceful art practice I need to fuel my weekends with creativity.
Mixed mediums of plywood, canvas, plaster, and wood.

Studying peaceful skies and places! Many of these landscapes are places from my hometown growing up or memories from long drives through new places and scenery passed along the way. Painting clouds and skies has been an ongoing study of form, shadow, movement, and light that I come to understand a little bit better each time.
Gouache & Acrylic on Canvas. All pieces are collections for my own home.

The Leaf and Kelp abstract painting series explores wavering and drifting forms in bold and muted color palettes. This series first started with an idea for some botanical silhouette paintings for my own walls and quickly turned into a whole relaxing hobby!
Each piece is unique and hand painted. The style is loosely inspired by Matisse’s “Cutouts” series with an emphasis on the shadows of leaves. I will undoubtedly be painting more of these in a larger variety of shapes and plant species inspired by dried botanicals, coming soon! This set will be sold at the Vida Design Winter Wonderland 2022 Craft Fair.
Medium: Acrylic and Gouche on Canvas
Sizes: 8x10, 5x7, 6x6, 4x4
